About

I am a Canadian artist based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, creating expressive oil
paintings inspired by music, nature, and abstract form. My work blends bold color,
movement, and emotion, using layered brushwork and rich pigments to create artwork that
feels alive. Each painting is an original piece, crafted by hand and shaped by
years of exploration, intuition, and personal experience.

My Artistic Style
My paintings often reflect the rhythm of jazz, the softness of florals, and the dynamic
energy of abstract expression. I work in oil on canvas, building depth through
texture, color harmony, and movement. Whether I’m painting a musician, a flower, or a
fully abstract composition, my goal is to create artwork that evokes feeling — pieces that
speak to people in a personal, emotional way.
Influences and Inspiration
Music has always been a major influence in my life, and it shows in many of my paintings.
Jazz, blues, and live performance inspire the shapes, colors, and rhythms in my
musician-themed work. I’m also drawn to the natural world — flowers and organic forms  appear throughoutmy floral and abstract pieces.

These influences come together in a style that is both expressive and contemporary.

From my earliest memories I loved drawing and painting.  As a teenager one of my friends gave me his mother's discarded oil paints and brushes.  I learned from books and videos, reading about the masters was a passion.  

Painting became an important form of expression and part of who I am.  

I moved to Vancouver in 1986.  In Stanley Park, Painters Circle I was able to exchange ideas and learn from other artists.  From the Painters Circle venue my paintings were purchased by customers worldwide.    I am currently selling online only.
